Macrame is an art of tying knots to make patterns (unlike weaving or knitting). Arab weavers called this kind of decorated cloth embroidery migramah (مِقْرَمة). It involved knotting excess thread along the edges of hand-loomed fabrics such as towels, shawls, and veils into decorative fringes. 

Macrame has gained popularity in the recent times for bohemian minimal decor and interiors and this workshop will give you a peek in it's world. You will learn the basic knot patterns that will help you with most of your macrame projects and we will conclude by creating a beautiful macrame heart keychain/car mirror hanging for you to take home!

About The Instructor:
Sailee is a self-taught macramé artist with a background in retail-space design. Back in India, she ran a small business specializing in handmade macramé accessories and décor. After moving to the UAE, she chose to share her passion by teaching macramé to those who appreciate handmade craftsmanship, keeping her love for the art alive.
